"Honesty is the best policy" Is it true?
What is honesty? Basically, it means telling the truth. The benefits are as follows. Fostering rapport, stimulating trust and reducing suspicion just to name a few. The worst scenario often follows honesty as well. Friends quarrel, family institution crumbles along with more and more dramatic separation are often the side-effects of those who demand the truth but cannot bear with it.
There is a thin line of demarcation that sets honesty and deception apart. Telling a white lie to please someone may seem to bring no harm but still it is wrong for those who follows their whatsoever principle fiercely. Deception is the essential tool for those who seeks a quick escape, revenge or protection. When one is being held hostage, blackmailed or simply being questioned, deception is everyone's best friend to survive in these circumstances.
Nonetheless, honesty grants more secure feeling towards each other than deception which is synonymous with betrayal. At times, people lie unintentionally but their actions speak louder. I know of a person who always maintains his stand regarding in the insignificance of marks but is often noticed to be one of the many who stalks the teachers for marks and denies his act after that. Is this what we called as double vision?
Some think that withholding the truth is not so wrong compared to lying. Maybe in some sense. For those who are competing, especially adults, they often keep all the tips they know in their tightly shut mouth. The companies often try to justify their deliberate act of leaving their rival behind by expressing their regret for not knowing their rival's intention before terminating their participation in business trips.
We lie almost very single minute. We cannot get on with life without lies. I had to admit I like to lie.
